How To Get Traffic to Your Url

Starting out
I'm going to write this assuming you already have a website to get traffic to. If you don't you can buy a website at http://www.godaddy.com/. If you don't have money to create a website then you can create a free blog on http://www.blogger.com/ like i did, or you can use http://www.freewebs.com/ or if you want a forum website for free try http://www.invisionfree.com/. (This website is for people who have somewhat knowledge of using forums)

Reasons For Having Traffic
There are many reasons people would want to have traffic to their website. The most common one is to earn money. Earn money? How? Well, google AdSense will pay you to put up ads on your site and for every time a visitor clicks on your ad you will get anywhere between 10cents-a dollar. People can earn lots of cash if they have alot of visitors. Example. If you have 1,000,000 visitors to your website a day (that is alot of people) and only 25% click on just one ad that is 250,000 clicks per day. The average click will get you 30 cents. 250,000 x 30= $75,000. (that is alot of money) Per month that is 75,000 x 30= $2,250,000 a month. and a year that would get them (I'm going to change the math a little to make it accurate cause there isn't always 30 days in a month so I'm going to multiply 75,000 dollars a day by 365) 75,000 x 365=$27,375,000. If you can make that much per year your set for life. I know getting a million visitors per day is totally outrageous and even 25% clicking on your ads is a little steep. So I calculate what 200 visitors a day would look like if 10% clicked on your ad. 1 day=$6 1 month=$180 1 year=$2190
so if your only generating 200 visitors a day and 10% click on your ads is a good sum in your pocket but nothing to quit your job over. As you can see making money is a big reason people want to generate traffic. That is only 1 reasons people would want traffic to generate traffic to their website for money, there are other way using traffic to get money such selling goods and services.But what are the other reasons besides making money?


Some people just want to be popular, and get people to look at their content. Maybe they want people to join a club. There are many reasons people would want to generate traffic to their site. Everyone is different and has there own reasons to generate traffic to their site. So please read on to see what are the methods of getting traffic to your site.


Methods of Traffic
1.Paying for traffic- You would think paying a small fee such as $4 for 1000 visitors would be a good idea right? WRONG! I have tried paying for visitors and all I got was a website that said I got 10,000 visitors from them. It's a big scam and there are no real visitors coming to your site. So save your money.
2.Advertising your website- There are many ways of advertising your website for free. Join multiple forums and ask them to look at your site. Follow the forum rules and don't say look at my site please I'm so desperate i need money. Be more casual about it for lack of a better term. Say something like, Hello i just created a website and I welcome you to come take a look at it. Tell me the strong and weak points about my site and way I can improve my website. Please be honest and I take all criticism well. A sentence like that will want people to come to your site. Also tell them what your site is and what you do there, be personal about it. You can also make a YouTube video. If your popular on YouTube or not you can still make a video and get people to come. Like I said before don't beg for them to come to your website that will just make you look like a loser. You can also just tell all your friends to come and your friends, friends, so on and so forth. You also have to make sure you have good keywords for your topic. If nobody is searching your keywords nobody will come. If you really want to reel in alot of visitors you can pay for advertising. You can make a small or big ad and pay a well known website to place your ad there but you better expect a big chunk coming out of your wallet because it can cost alot.
3.Adding your site to search engines- If you don't even have your site indexed in the most popular search engines then whats the point. Unless they know you and your site the only way they can get there is manually typing in your URL in the address bar, unless you post alot of links on other sites.
4.Make your web page appealing-You have to make your web page look appealing.(I know mine isn't to appealing and that's one of the things I have to work on) You want your website colors to match your website content. If your website is a game about hacking things then make I green and black like the matrix. If your website is about golf add in alot of golfing pictures. Make sure that your colors aren't too dark and dreary(unless that is what your site is about) and not too colorful with strobe light images popping up. Also adding videos help.(make sure they are about your site though)
5.Listing-Listing is a great way for people to come to your site. It makes alot of keywords which are necessary for search engine results and they are great resources for your readers. Readers are looking for information and they love to have a list of recourse's already found for them because it will make them book mark that page so they can come back to it later.
